Improving stone fruit quality in Spain

Lleida, in northeastern Spain, is one of the country's leading fruit-growing regions. Together with our exclusive partner Miarnau Agritecno, we visited a commercial stone fruit farm to discuss the challenges of modern fruit production and the importance of targeted foliar nutrition.

Supporting fruit quality through balanced nutrition

Producing high-quality peaches, nectarines, flat peaches and platerinas requires a balanced nutrient supply throughout the growing season. During our visit, local experts highlighted the importance of micronutrients such as iron, zinc and manganese for healthy fruit development.

As harvest approaches, potassium becomes increasingly important. It supports sugar accumulation and contributes to the flavour and overall quality of the fruit. According to the growers, WUXAL K40 has become an important part of their nutrition programme at this stage.

The importance of calcium

Calcium is another key nutrient for premium fruit quality. It strengthens fruit tissue, improves firmness and colour development, and supports better shelf life. For these reasons, WUXAL Calcium plays an essential role in helping growers produce marketable, high-quality fruit.

Working together for successful fruit production

Modern fruit growing requires the right combination of agronomic expertise, effective crop management and balanced plant nutrition. Our visit to Lleida demonstrated how close collaboration between growers, advisors and partners contributes to consistent fruit quality and successful production.

We would like to thank Francesc, Pepe Roig and our partner Miarnau Agritecno for their hospitality and for sharing their valuable experience.
